Programming: what your workshop has to do
Component Protection (CP)
Since model year 2017 every Audi cluster is married to the car's gateway. A cluster moved to another car powers on, shows SAFE CP in the centre and blocks most functions until CP is removed. Removal needs ODIS with a live connection to Audi's servers, which means an Audi dealer or an independent with an online ODIS licence. It cannot be done with VCDS, OBDeleven or a bench tool.
SFD on 2020+ cars
A6, A7 and A8 from 2020 on, and the Q7 / Q8 facelift, add Schutz Fahrzeug Diagnose. Coding these clusters needs an SFD token in addition to CP removal. Confirm your workshop has both before ordering a 4K0 or 4N0 unit.
What we can and cannot do
- We confirm part number and index against your VIN.
- We send the boot video and label photo of the exact unit you receive.
- We do not remove CP, remotely or otherwise. Volkswagen Group does not issue ODIS-online accounts to parts sellers.
- We do not change mileage. Units leave us at 0 km and adopt your car's reading when coded.
Retrofitting from an analogue cluster
Going from dials to Virtual Cockpit also needs the right wiring, multifunction steering wheel with View button, and MMI compatibility. Tell us what the car has today and we advise whether the project makes sense before you spend money.
VIN check and quote
Send the VIN and we reply with the unit that fits, its label photo and a price including shipping to your country. Nothing is paid until the match is confirmed.
How an order runs
- You send the VIN, ideally with a photo of the label on your current cluster.
- We reply with the matching part number, its SW/HW index, photos of the actual unit's label and the price with shipping.
- You pay by bank transfer in USD or EUR, or by card. We do not use PayPal.
- We record the serial, pack the unit in foam and ship by DHL Express or FedEx with insurance and signature on delivery. Tracking is sent the same day.
- Your workshop fits the cluster, removes CP and codes it. The odometer takes the car's mileage.
Questions we get asked
Why 0 km on a used cluster?
These units were removed from brand-new cars during pre-delivery upgrades, before the cars were driven. A cluster from a driven donor keeps that car's mileage and cannot be rolled back, so 0 km units are the ones workshops want for replacements and retrofits.
Why does the screen say SAFE CP in your photos?
Because Component Protection is still active. It proves the unit powers on and the display works. Your workshop clears it when the cluster is coded to your car.
Can you remove CP or send a coded unit?
No. CP removal requires an online ODIS session tied to the car, at a dealer or a specialist with online access. We are a parts seller and do not hold such an account.
The menus in one of your videos are in Chinese. Is that a problem?
No. Language is a coding setting and your workshop switches it to your market during CP removal.
How do I know the SW/HW index fits my car?
Send the VIN and a photo of your current cluster's label. We compare suffix and index and tell you which of our units matches, or that none does.
What is your warranty?
Every unit is powered on and filmed before it ships. If it arrives damaged or does not power on, tell us within 7 days with photos and we replace or refund. A cluster that has been coded to a car is bound to that car and cannot be returned, so please use the VIN check first.
Import duties?
Duties and VAT in your country are paid by the buyer. DHL and FedEx collect them on delivery. We declare the goods correctly as used auto parts.
