Remote Component Protection removal for Audi clusters, ODIS online, $299 with a cluster or $349 on its own
For Audi Virtual Cockpit and analogue clusters from model year 2017 onwards. Also SFD unlock on cars from 2020 where the VIN allows it.
What you get
- An ODIS online session run by us through your own diagnostic interface, with the cluster fitted in the car.
- Component Protection released, cluster coded to the vehicle, language and layout set, adaptation done. SAFE CP disappears from the display.
- On 2020+ cars with SFD, the SFD unlock included when our access covers your VIN; we confirm this before you pay.
- Typically 30 to 60 minutes. If the session fails for a reason on our side, you pay nothing.
What you need
| Item | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Diagnostic interface | VAS 6154 / 6154A type (original or good clone), VXDIAG VCX SE / NANO for VAG, or another pass-thru that works with ODIS. Cheap ELM327 dongles do not work. |
| Computer | Windows 10 or 11 laptop, stable internet, remote-desktop tool installed (we send the link). 8 GB RAM is enough. |
| Vehicle | Cluster installed, ignition on, battery charger connected. The session must not be interrupted. |
| Information | VIN, the part number and SW/HW index of the new cluster, and the old cluster's number if you have it. |
| Time | Appointments 08:00–22:00 China time (UTC+8), seven days a week. Evening slots in Europe and morning slots in the Americas work well. |
Price
$299 when booked with a cluster from FPK KING, $349 for a cluster bought elsewhere. Payment by bank transfer or card after we confirm your VIN and setup, before the session. Trade pricing for workshops that book regularly.
How it works
- Send the VIN and a photo of the cluster label on WhatsApp. We confirm the cluster matches the car and whether SFD applies.
- We agree a time. You install the cluster, connect the interface and charger, and open the remote-desktop link.
- We run ODIS online, clear CP, code and adapt the cluster while you watch the screen.
- You check the display, warnings and menus with us on the call. Done.
What we do not do
- We do not change mileage. Odometer values can only be raised by the car itself.
- We do not clear CP on clusters reported stolen or on units whose identity does not match the label.
- We cannot clear CP on the bench; the cluster must be in the car.
Questions
Can my local dealer do this instead?
Yes. Any Audi dealer can clear Component Protection in the workshop, usually for a fee of roughly EUR 100–200 or USD 150–300 plus the visit. Our remote session exists for workshops without online ODIS and for owners who prefer not to visit a dealer with a retrofit.
Does VCDS, OBDeleven or Carista work?
No. Those tools can read the CP fault but cannot release it; the release needs Audi's servers through ODIS online.
Will the cluster keep 0 km?
No. During coding the cluster adopts the car's mileage, which is exactly what you want.
What if my car has SFD and you cannot unlock it?
We tell you before you pay. Then the options are a dealer visit for the SFD step, or a specialist in your country with SFD access.
