US and Canada: this is the km/h version. North American cars use 8W5 920 890 with an mph speedometer, and a km/h unit is not recommended there. Ask us to source the mph version.

Index E with software 0417 is the model-year 2019 and 2020 level. It is not compatible with 2016–2018 control units unless the workshop downgrades the software (to 0319), so please state your model year when asking. Boots into the dark sport layout in the video.

Suffix E was introduced for model year 2019. Its software 0417 is the MY2019 level: 2019 and 2020 cars accept it as it is, while 2016–2018 control units reject it unless the workshop first downgrades the cluster to 0319. For a 2016–2018 car the base 790 or the B, C and D suffixes are the simpler choice. The label on this unit reads HW H19 / SW 0417.
